Air Travel

  • Guide to Psychology offers a concise, intelligent introduction to the issues that cause fear of flying. It also features extensive links to other sites for further information on fear of flying issues.
  • Airline Quality has a very thorough review of the world??s airlines and airports and features thousands of insightful passenger comments to help you choose the right airline for you.

Cheap Air Fares

  • University of Michigan International Center created this list of links to help you find cheap airfare. The site also features a simple, accessible explanation of different types of cheap airfare options (including charters, consolidators, and courier travel)
  • The International Air Association of Travel Couriers (IAATC) maintain a up to date list of air courier companies who need couriers. It also publishes the Shoestring Traveler, a useful newsletter for budget travelers.
  • The Air Courier Association (ACA) also has up to date courier information and also features lots of up-date information about cheap travel options. It seems to be an excellent source of information on conventional package travel bargains.
  • Filipino Pavillion and Travel Emporium publishes a good, simple introduction to charter flights and courier travel.
  • Edward Hasbrouck's web site is filled with very informative and user-friendly information about the ins and outs of the airline business. After reading his extensive information, you?ll never pay full fare for an airline trip again.

Cruising

  • The Cruise Line Industry Association maintains an excellent primer on cruising.
  • Cruise Addicts maintains thorough qualitative information about cruise line. The site features particularly informative cruise line reviews from cruisers.


    DINING AND PACKING TIPS

  • Good dining tips for travelers to North America and Europe.
  • travelite.org and oratory.com provide excellent, non-commercial sites for packing tips and well organized, high quality bibliographies and links.
  • Journey Woman contains an excellent guide to what to wear throughout the world.


SAFETY AND HEALTH TIPS

  • Pharmacy Planning Service provides basic, well organized, and useful health tips for travelers.
  • Corporate Travel Safety maintains an exceptional compendium of useful tips and links for travel safety issues.
  • The Transportation Safety Administration answers many common questions about airline and other transportation safety in this well-organized and useful website.
  • Ease.com provides an excellent non-commerical site on travel safety with a rare and refreshing angle on traveling in the third world, in particular.
  • The Travel Library maintains extensive and useful information on safety, including some excellent specific tips for avoiding being a scam artist victim.
  • Travel Dirt is another source of excellent tips and great links for travel safety information.
  • The US State Department issues overly cautious travel warnings. Read Canada or Australia to maintain a sense of balance.
  • Nationmaster provides useful crime statistics for many nations. Keep in mind that statistics from third world countries are often inaccurate and that Nationmaster may not have the statistics that you need.
  • Lonely Planet?s Thorn Tree provides up?to-date posts from the guidebook?s readers. A lot of the posts are about travel safety.
  • Began by the family of an American who died in a bus accident overseas, the Association for Safe Road Travel details the dangers facing travelers on roads throughout the world.
  • Travel Medicine outlines health risks throughout the world and reviews products that can help to ensure that you?ll be healthy on the road.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains comprehensive, unbiased information about health risks throughout the world.
  • The Overseas Security Advisory Council Database contains daily reports of safety related issues throughout the world.

SENIOR, FAMILY, AND SOLO TRAVELERS

Senior Travel

  • Senior site.com provides useful information sponsored by various senior travel providers
  • Elderhostel provides the best place for seniors to take learning vacations and interesting tours.
  • Transitions Abroad Magazine as useful provides the best for senior who want to travel in culturally adventurous ways.

Family Travel

  • Once again, Transitions Abroad provides useful tips and links for family travelers.
  • Family Travel Forum contains comprehensive, useful, and well organized information only family travel for members. Price for membership is reasonable.

Single Travel

  • Travel Companions, the granddaddy of travel singles matching companies, is unfortunately on hiatus. Hopefully, it?ll be back up soon. It?s a great resource.
  • Travel Chums provides a thorough matching service to help link single travelers.
