Cambria CA: My New Home

Currently my home base is Cambria, California. Cambria is a small resort community, known for its?quaint Victorian style architecture and pine clad hills,?located approximately half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Hearst Castle, where publisher, William Randolph Hearst lived for the last twenty years of his life, is located about three miles north of my home in San Simeon. Cambria has approximately 6000 people. It is 35 miles of San Luis Obispo, home of Cal Poly and the largest city in these parts and 30 miles from Paso Robles, the heart of one of most California's most successful new wine growing regions.

I am living with my parents. They have a very comfortable home, designed by an architect who specializes in Modern design. I have a large room on the first floor to write here which has a view of the ocean. From the second floor where my parents sleep (and the kitchen and living room are located), we can see the ocean on one side and a hill with two large oak trees (which is part of a conservancy area) on the other side. The home and the area are very remote, relaxing and beautiful.

I must admit that I miss living in a City, though. I often long for ethnic restaurants, bookstores, movie theaters showing art films, museums, and other accountrements of urban life. All the same, I am lucky to be able to spend some time with my parents and to?live in such a lovely spot.
